Ramzan ended with Id'ul'Fitr on October 2nd and Diwali (lights festival) on the 28th. Despite the fact these festivals are Muslim and Indian, they have an influence on Thailand's Chanthaburi gems market.
In order need to clean their stocks and raise cash for Id'ul'Fitr and Diwali, Indian dealers did bring some material on Chanthaburi market, mainly amethyst, citrine, peridot and some huge loads of garnet.
We already saw on the market discounted goods from India, but surprisingly, all this material is of decent quality and cut, means suitable for sale on Chanthaburi market, which was not the case with the former material coming from India. Buyers who were in Chanthaburi during this month made excellent deals with Indian material!
