This weekend occurred at the same with Chinese New Year festivities (Year of the Golden Pig). Friday was one of the best days of the year for buyers. Stones owners had to raise cash in order to give bonus to their employees. Many gemstones in all qualities were heavily discounted. A lot of material was on the market. Bangkok brokers were in town competing to sell their goods. Buyers present made excellent deals.
